interpretation of weld symbols

I would be good with that. Fillet weld, all the way around.
I don't know why you rotated the views in that manner. Left in the top view is now right in the side view.
No weld on the bottom side? Strange. If you did want welding on the opposite side, you would put a fillet weld symbol also on the top of the line, or else indicate by the all around symbol.
The symbol for the fillet weld should always have the vertical leg on the left side, at least that is the way I was taught.

Not sure what is trying to be achieved (like others this detail seems "non standard") and as stated by others to reflect what you have drawn, the symbol should be on top ("this side" cf "other side") and the straight part of the symbol should be on the LHS (in AU anyhow).
I assume you have specified the (weld) tag width somewhere else (though apparently not in the sketch provided).
