I have a logo in a few various formats... jpg, gif, and tiff. What would be the easiest way to convert this logo into a sketch, so I can extrude the actual logo. Is tracing the only method?

Thanks, Sam.

check out they have a program called picture works that converts those to vector files.

Also check out this faq559-520 it might help you later also.

When in doubt, always check the help

HiJaak is a program that reads over 100 formats and converts between them. It also has a raster-to-vector conversion which would allow you to generate a .dxf file, which you could bring into a sketch like an AutoCAD drawing.

If you have Adobe Illustrator available (try Kinko's), you can use it to convert vector components of .ai, .eps, and .pdf files to .dxf for use in CAD programs.

Try Wintopo. It as a freeware version that you can use to raster your tif image and create a dxf file. Then just import the image into SW.

Thanks for your help! Converting it is much easier than tracing..
