Does anybody know of any guide notes that quantifies the acceptable levels of metallic and non-metallic inclusions in ASTM A182 F316 forgings for pressure vessels such as flanged double block and bleed valves. This application is used mainly in the oil and gas industry.

The valves are either flange x screw style and flange x flange style with a flange size from 1/2" class 150 lb up to 2" class 2500lb rating.

ASTM E45 shows the method of identifying inclusions but does not define acceptance levels.

Any help on this matter would be duly appreciated.

A-182 does not impose testing/restrictions on nonmetallic inclusions; furthermore, E-45 is not referenced therein.
