Inclined Beam Connections onto flat surfaces

I have w8 simply supported roof beams on an incline of 5 degrees, approx. 1:12 slope. One end bears on top of a horiz. wide flange, and the other end goes on top of an 8" cmu wall.

What would be a practical bolted connection detail? Do I have to cut the bottom flange back and weld a Horizontal plate for a clean fit onto the bearing surface?
 
I wouldn't cut the flange. Lots of labor. Using tapered steel shims beneath the flange seems easier.
 
Won't normal shimming and grouting take care of this?
 
Thank you. It's been awhile since any building structures were thrown at me. I was thinking a little more towards the nut (top) side of the connection. Do you shim there as well? I don't remember ever doing something like that. Or does it not matter?

 
I would suggest two solutions.
You could weld a tee-shaped bearing plate which is wider than the bottom flange of your roof beam (I'm assuming it's a roof beam). The bearing plate would be bolted to the support beam.
Or you could raise the top elevation of the support beam and connect the roof beam to the web instead of bearing on top.
