Hi all,

Still coming to grips with FEA, I was wondering when importing a Solidworks Assembly Parasolid .x_t file to Ansys 14.5 for FEA the additional steps required after the geometry stage to obtain analysis results.

From what I can see after mating two parts to form an assembly in Solidworks and importing the assembly .x_t file into Ansys 14.4, it automatically creates contact elements required for testing along with a default mesh. Would I be correct in assuming that no further contact elements are required to be specified and only supports and load inputs along with mesh refinement (if required) is all that is needed in order to perform a basic analysis to give good initial results?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!
