I may have to do some weld procedures on 304l stainless steel pipe butt welds.
The code will be pd5500 for the job and 15614 for the pqr.
It is intended to be tig root & mma fill & cap.
The job is a cryogenic tank and require impact testing @ -196.c
what is the minimum requirements for the charpy results?? and is there any need
for caution???

gazweld,
You would be better off posting in ASME (for assistance with piping) or CEN/ECN (for assistance with European standards).
AWS is for Structural works, not pressure piping,
Cheers,
Kiwi

Check your specifications, but more than likely you will need to meet 27 joules in base, weld and HAZ at -196C/-320f. Also, for low temperature service you will want to use filler with a lower ferrite content, i.e., <5% to avoid the ferrite going through a brittle transition, the austenite matrix will remain ductile.
