impact test for duplex material (Flange, Tubesheet) 1

i would appreciate if some one can answer my question below.
according to ASME Sect VIII div 1, UHA 51 d(3)(a) all austenitic ferritic duplex material steel with a nom thickness thicker than 10 mm required for impact test regardless of its MDMT. how about those duplex flange and tubesheet which their thickness normally will exceed 10mm? is there any exemption para? Thanks in advance.

IIA is a material spec. If you are using it for something other than Sec VIII work then you may not need to impact test.

If you are doing this I would look into combining the UHA 51 test and the A923 impact test so that you only need to do one set of tests. the purpose of 923 is not to find the impact strength, but to make sure that the material was heat treated properly. You can use impact toughness to do this. Often test criteria (samples and temp) can be defined so as to meet both criteria at once.
