Looks like a standard 1N4148 switching diode...

FAQ731-376

Is this "the Christmas Challenge?"

Here's another one: I have a little metal can. It looks like a tiny hat. It is 5.1 mm high and the diameter is 4.8 mm. There is a rim at the bottom and there are three wires sticking out from the bottom. There is some marking on it. But difficult to read. All I can see is a "2" there may be either another "2" or a "Z" before that.

I wonder what it can be?

Hmm.. Spoilsport.

Too easy, was it?

OK, what date code does it have?

Ok, I'll go with "What is 1297" for $100, Alex...

Actually, those are the only two components I know ;-)
