I need to identify this diode and have no idea as to diode type or specs. It is in an RF circuit (tens of MHz). Orange interior, silver barrier, and "1N" on the side. It is 1/8" long and 1/16" in diameter. Here is a link to a photo:

thanks in advance for any guidance!

Looks like a standard 1N4148 switching diode...

Why don't you just read it???
There's the "1N" now just keep turning it and see who's the winner.

Expect "41"
and "48".

Is this "the Christmas Challenge?"

Here's another one: I have a little metal can. It looks like a tiny hat. It is 5.1 mm high and the diameter is 4.8 mm. There is a rim at the bottom and there are three wires sticking out from the bottom. There is some marking on it. But difficult to read. All I can see is a "2" there may be either another "2" or a "Z" before that.

I wonder what it can be?

Hmm.. Spoilsport.

Too easy, was it?

OK, what date code does it have?

Ok, I'll go with "What is 1297" for $100, Alex...

Actually, those are the only two components I know ;-)
