idealization attachments

I have decided to model my cylindrical beam/thin plate assembly using compressed midsurfaces and beam idealizations to reduce run time, but Pro/Mech does not recognize the idealizations as being rigidly connnected (the rods are fitted through holes in the plates). What would be the best method to constrain them?
