I have recently got very enthusiastic about building a 20KW upwind HAWT.
I am still doing research as I am beginner in the field.The plan so far is to start building it after 1 year. So far I have downloaded lots of datasheets (about 450MB). I would freely share all the information, that I have collected up to now.
The main issues are:
1. Blade design
2. Rotor design
3. PMG - permanent magnet generator
4. Gearbox
5. Brakes for stopping the turbine
6. Mechanical control system
7. Tower design
8. Power inverter and grid connection
