I could use some information about synergy MIG/MAG welding

Apparently the company division where I will be transferred to soon are in the proces of buying two new welding robots with a 'special' power supply unit.

It appears they will be much simplified to work with, apparently with one rotary knob you can adjust al the welding settings, and they all will be adjusted according to one another.

I have heard they mentioned "synergy" , however a google search mostly came up with welding machine suppliers.

Does anyone have a good explanation for this in his/her bookmarks?

It appears is's basically an cc invertor with a voltage feedback?

any suggestions are much appreciated...

Perhaps it is Synergic, rather than synergy?

I joined the TWI website, created an account and logged in, but still couldn't access the page you have linked to.

Nevermind, I googled for Synergic and found much more plausible information. I must have heard it wrong.

In the words of our Lincoln rep, "synergic stands for bull crap."

Depending on your joint geometry and how each manufacturer defines their "synergic" power supplies, this can very much be the case...

Synergic is the correct word, and many robots prefer it for its feedback characteristics and low spatter.

It is not the same as 'inverter', which describes the operating principle of the power source. However, probably all synergic power sources are inverters because of the fast switching capability.
