Hello,

my question is about the possibility of including the hysteresis of a BH curve in a FEM analysis with ANSYS EMAG. I'm facing a problem related to induction effects, and considering the effect of hysteresis is fundamental to start with the problem.
¿Is it possible that with other software different from ANSYS, this kind of problems would be easier to face to?

If anyone could tell me information about the possibilities, I'd be pleased.

Thanks in advance

I have used several different mag FEA programs and none of them could handle hysteresis. The problem is that you don't follow a single curve up and down but a whole family of curves. Every node has to "know" what field strength it's coming from to know where it's going next.

Thanks a lot,

I'm afraid I was expecting this answer!. As I've only worked with ANSYS EMAG, I was not sure if there were other possibilities with different softwares. It's true that I have to consider the family of BH curves, because in the future I'd like to couple my problem with the thermal domain.
I think I have to start simplifying the problem before taking into account all the effects.

Thank you very much

The only possibility is to do a *do loop command and the input material parameters of each time will change.

This is easy with a linear magnet but in a case of a non linear magnet, this means a lot of work with the demagnetized curve,

I suppose you are using apdl programming?
