Hi All,

I am looking for your input. We are currently procuring a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) which is a system comprising of a hydraulic piston pump, reservoir tank, pressurize accumulators, and various valves, PRVs, fittings, and 3/4 tubing. It will be installed in Canada. The system is operating at around 3000 psi. It will be used to actuate 26" knife gate valves on ASME B31.3 piping for slurry. If you have experience with such systems, I'd appreciate your remarks on the following questions:

1. What is the appropriate piping codes or industry practices?
- I know this question has already been posted here: but there was little resolution.

2. I presume a CRN will be required for all fittings, is this correct?

Hi Kevin,

In which province will it be installed? Some CRN requirements vary depending on the province.
