Many times we have 3 story buildings. The 3rd floor is the only one calculated, the other two floors are piped typical to the hydraulic design on the 3rd floor. The hydraulic design sign is attached to the 3rd floor control valve. Is a hydraulic sign required on the 1st and 2nd floor control valves. I ask this question with NFPA 25 in mind. ITM department is writing up missing signs. Engineering department insists the signs are not required because there was no hydraulic design for that floor.
