Hydrate Formation at Pipe Bends

I am looking at wet natural gas piping system.

An expert has advised that hydrate crystals have a tendency to accumulate at piping bends (radius < 3d).

Intuitively, this does not seem right. Also I have been unable to find any references to the phenomenum on the internet.

Has anyone got any knowledge about this?

Accumulation at piping bends seems logical to me.
Formation, however, should be irrelevant to the fittings/bends.

Hydrates are crystals which means in solid form. Accumulation of solids is quite relevant at low points & fittings.

Thanks for your thoughts.

In my application, gas will be flowing round bends at > 10m/s.

Intuitively, it seems to me that bends will not cause accumulation of hydrate crystals in such circumstances.
