I have a small-diameter shell-and-tube exchanger with 3/4" SS tubes, expanded and seal welded at both ends. I am situated in the Hamilton, Ontario area, and I need the name of a shop capable of extracting the tubes without totally destroying them. A heat exchanger constructor would be ideal, as it will later be retubed.

Actually, an ASME shop that can retube would be better.

Thanks, but I don't have a directory for the city so it won't work.

Here are two sources of tools and expertise in removing tubes. It is always a little problem when you have to remove a tube
that has been rolled and seal welded since you have to drill out the seal weld and then break the rolled area loose. As you didn't mention any gauge you may have to have to add a section to each to to get the length back to nominal. Both these companies offer consultation. One thing we have done to facilitate removing seal welds is to use a piloted flat face drill bit.
