I'm looking for the proper settings to set up a HP Designjet 500 with UG NX1, the plotter will be set up locally to 1 machine (no ethernet), running Windows XP-Pro.

I have a 1050C, and this should be close. You might have to modify some of the switches. Check the documentation for further assistance, as it outlines all of the switches.

Do you not have the NX Documentation? If you do, please read it...it will answer all of your questions & will save me time from re-typing the same things over & over (read the documentation).
I gave you the entire profile for an HP plotter. Use pqmgr & set up your plotter. It's not that difficult.
UG does require HP-GL/2. I know from experience that the Designjet 500 does not support HPGL/2 with its standard model. You will need to buy the "HP-GL/2 Accessory Card" to plot to the DJ 500 from NX2 and older
