One of our 120 rpm machines has a few dozen accelerometers afixed to its bearing housings that will be monitored with HP 1432A boards that are talking with HP DAC express software on an HP E1401B mainframe.

I'm looking for tech data on the processing and monitoring capabilities of this equipment, and HP no longer supports it.
Does someone have manuals in electronic format?

Thanks,

Dan Timberlake

I checked with VXI for the specs of their updated products, and downloaded a copy of the DACexpress software to play with. Basically the boards will only transmit acceleration data, and the software can display either frequency/spectrum info or time wave form, but with VERY few options.

I've not talked to anyone that has used the 1432 boards for long term type monitoring. They've traditonally been used in the NVH field for transient capture, modal analysis or similar work. They'll record any type of voltage signal but can have the option to interface directly with IEPE/ICP sensors. Other options are tach inputs, source outputs, and local bus options for writing to scsi disks.

There are a few software packages out there that interface with them. SDRC/MTS Ideas-Test used to, and I think B&K is still supporting that after the MTS break-up. M+P also has the SmartOffice product that they sell. I know there are a few people out there that have also written their own in-house code to interface with them.
