How to translate g force from braking into a torsional load represented in ft lb of torque.

I am trying to calculate how much torsional load is applied to a given suspension with 1 g force of braking.

Assuming the car weighs 3000 pounds and 70 percent of the braking is done with the front.

That equals 1050 pounds per front wheel.

I am also assuming the tire is 24 inches in diameter.

Using the formula torque= force X radius 1050 lb of force X 1 ft. = 1050 ft. pounds of torque.

Does this equation seem correct or am I missing something? That number just seems rather large to me.
