I want to subtract the swept. It always gives me an error message 'Thru face does not intersect path of the tool.' Can anyone kindly help with this problem? Thanks

That part cannot be opened, even in NX 8.0 (where is was created). It was not saved properly. There iare some external references which cannot be resolved. Please try again.

I took me quite a while to create the solid model with law curve method without running the journal.
Now I want to subtract the swept, but not successful.
Please help with this. Thanks

I have replied to this in the curve along cylinder thread. Here is the same comment regarding this

The swept body will not subtract correctly in your case for two reasons. One is that your two splines need to be closed (periodic). The second reason is that based on what you indicated about the method you used for creating the two splines I think you swept body limits pass in and out of the cylinder face.

If you look these other versions of the part I gave you the other day, I have used two features to overcome the same problem that you have which are replace face (12) and replace face (14), in one part and 3 replace face features (12) (21) and (22) in the second apart if you suppress these, you will see that you get same error. However using these replace face features will over come the problem you are having.

....and before anyone points out the groove width changes, I know this, it was the process of using replace face I'm trying to convey ;-)
