How to open a newer database with an older ANSYS database

I have several databases (structural geometry and mesh) generated with ANSYS 10 and 11. Is it possible to open them with ANSYS 5.4?
I am aware that saving the databases as iges files is a way to do it, but is there another way to do it?

What I meant to ask is 'How to open a newer ANSYS database with an older ANSYS release?'
