Hey guys, new here in the forums. Though I'm new to CATIA, I do have experience in NX9.

So my question is: how would I measure just the vertical distance between two features/points? Whenever I try to take a measurement, it gives me the diagonal distance.

I know in NX9, there is a tool called "Projected Distance" which allows you measure a fixed distance depending on the reference vector. Is there something similar here in CATIA?

Thanks in advance!

In the bottom of the Measure Between results panel is a Customize... option. Click on that and activate the Components option. This will provide the x, y, and z components of the distance between the points. You'll have to figure out which direction is "vertical"

I have Catia V5. I activated Components in both 3D and the Panel, but I'm unsure of what to do from here. How do I select the direction/vector I want as "vertical"?

Hopefully, "vertical" is in the X, Y, or Z direction. If not, you will have to add a new axis system in the "vertical" direction and use that Axis when you measure the distance.
