Hello,
Can anyone refer me to any book/paper that talks about initial sizing of a regenerative turbine pump? i.e. sizing of impeller, number of blades, blade width, etc.

Why?

I've looked into this before and I think the are probably less than 50 such machine worldwide for pipeline systems.

Sounds like a great idea, but you rapidly you discover doesn't work from a cost perspective.

Hydro electric power gives you a good start point of you want to waste your time looking at this.

There are people who make these so why are you trying to re invent the wheel??

There are many papers about the recovery units used in RO.
There is a small group of companies that build these.
I would talk with one of them.

Artsi..yes that is what I am talking about
LittleInch ..yes I had seen that but I want the design formulae and guidelines for designing one from scratch .. for example like the book by Gülich for Centrifugal pumps..something like that

Ist step in design is to look at what is already available and its weak points - then design a better one.
