I'm guessing this isn't going to be possible...

I'm using a triangle pattern within a boundary, and I need for the pitch
to increase with each instance. So the pitch needs to grow from the center
of the pattern outwards. I work with rubber molds, and the reason for this is
to accommodate matching up to a hot mold that has thermal expansion. For instance,
the pitch may be a static 1" when it's cold, but 1"x% when it's hot.The % growth is
based on the distance from the instance to the center of pattern. Hopefully that
makes sense.

nx 8.5

thanks!

Hi akparsley,

Please Check with Pattern Increment Option in pattern feature.

Pattern increment is to modify the feature, not the pattern. So I could make each hole bigger than the last, but this
doesn't do anything for incrementing the pitch.

If you are dealing with thermal expansion, wouldn't the entire part grow? If so, it seems that "scale body" might work for you.

1) Use Spacing Option with Count & pitch and now select Pattern Increment,

2) Select Direction offset and add to list and specify Increment value as you required or give Expression.

Check attached image for more understanding.

Thankyou.

Thanks, but this is a boundary fill pattern. With a boundary fill, I can pick "triangle" layout, which works really nice for a static pitch. You don't get the option to increment spacing as you do with a standard linear pattern (that you have shown).
See the attachment for my dialog.

My tool isn't the one getting hot, it just has to mate to the hot mold. So when the mold is cold, it would have a simple pattern. But when it's hot, the holes all spread apart from center (~.0015/"). So my tool's pattern needs to accommodate that expansion.

Thanks to you both for the efforts!

Problem solved...
I was over thinking this. All I needed was for the pitch to be (i.e.) 1"x% of the original static pitch. This will make each row grow from center as desired.
