Hi,

I am trying to import a CAD geometry, in .ipt, from Autodesk Inventor to Design Modeler (ANSYS Workbench 2021 R2). However, when I try to import the .ipt file, the following message appears: "Unable to start CAD system". Then, when I click ok, another message appears: "Attach failed".

How can I solve this error?

I thank you in advance,
Best regards,

I believe you need to have the inventor plugin and inventor installed on the same machine. When workbench tries to open the file it uses inventor to do so. If you don't have access to the plugin you can also output the geometry as a STEP, IGES or other open geometry format, and then open in workbench.
