I have a SolidWorks 2007 assembly of various solid components (I have hidden the internal ones I do not want the customer to get.) that I need to be able to export to an .iges file or a Step file. Can someone please guide me thru this process?

Recommended for you

File --> Save as
Check the options that are available in the save-as dialog (there is an options button).

If you want to be sure hidden components are not exported, just make a copy of your assembly and delete those components. There may be other ways, but this way can't miss.

Thanks TheTick that is exactly what I decided I would have to do.

BTW Good for you for being so conscientious about what you send out.

If your customer only needs a model for interfacing with other components in their CAD system, an alternative might be to first save the assy as a part using the Exterior faces or Exterior components options.
