Hi, I’m glad I’ve found this forum.

I very urgently need an advice on how to establish an updating process with Primavera.

Do you have any step by step procedure to update the schedule?

For example:
1. Step: Activate the “Progress Spotlight”
2. Step: Go to “Tools” - “Update Progress” and click “Apply”
3. Step: Enter the “Remaining Duration”
4. Step: Go to “Tools” - “Apply Actuals”

My problem:
When do I have to do what (what is a good sequence to get good results)? For example when do I have to enter the new “Data Date”?

My premises are the following:

• The “% Complete Type of all activities is “Duration”.
• I don’t have any resources assigned. (So I don’t need to update any resources. Makes things easier, doesn’t it?)
• I just have to update the actual dates.
• I need to get the variances of dates and durations.

I’m looking forward to your answers! Thanks in advance for your help.

It should be easy. If you are using P6: make sure to have the activity detail, status tab, open when updating. Click on the box next to started, set the start date then percent complete. When finished, click the box beside finished so the percent complete will be 100%. move to the next activity and do the same.
