Hello Everyone,

Please suggest me how to dimension the multiple pattern holes on drawing.
I am working on machining drawing (casting component)
How should I mention M4 threaded holes on drawing in one callout.
I don't want to put M4 dimension multiple times as my drawing is already having to much of dimensions which is making it very complex to read.
Please provide your expert advise.
Thank You.

I would personally go with "6x M4" as that seems to me to be more inline with BS8888, but I think "2x M4, 3 places" would also be perfectly acceptable. I also think "6x M4" will look cleaner once the dimension for the 10mm holes are added.

Shouldn't "B" come after "A(M)" in the GD&T feature control frame? I don't know myself as I haven't done much GD&T yet.

I would create a detail view of the boss and under that indicate the number of bosses there are, and in that detail view indicate the number of M4 holes in the boss detail. In ASME Y14.5 there is a note "INDIVIDUALLY" that is applied to indicate that the hole used as a datum feature is repeated by itself at each boss and would be used in the detail view, but I don't know what the equivalent is for the ISO standard. Without "INDIVIDUALLY" one would have to create a separate datum symbol for each hole and no one wants to do that.

Something like that:
