how to convert autocad drawing to 3ds max?

i'm trying to play 3d drawing in autocad, but i found this 3ds max software more user friendly when it comes to making 3d drawing.

anybody knows how to do this or any free online tutorial for converting dwg (2d house) to 3ds max?

I do not know any tutorials, but try "_3dsout" and the "help".

In 3D Max, go to "File/import", search for the .dwg file.

is exactly right. BUT you might want to make a dwg of just the clean stuff you want into your 3DS so clutter doesn't come across, and use that instead of the original drawing. I regularly lay out my model in ACAD and bring it across to 3DS and to RHINO 3D modeler and back again for detailing. Works just fine. ctopher's method is the one I use.
