Hi guys,
I am working on simulating Spring back of v-bending using FEA.
the problem I have is I get many increment errors, after while I found out that I should constrain my plate, but I don't want to constrain it in any direction! because I gonna simulate V-bending process.
I wonder if anybody have any idea about modeling the plate?
p.s. I constrained two nodes in the middle of plate in x and y direction ( punch moves in z direction) and I could run the program but I can not convince my supervisor if it is a right idea or not.
Thanks,

Cheers,
Farzad,

Assume you have quarter symmetry of your plate, then the edge at the centreline of the V will be restrained in one direction, and the other symmetry edge will be restrained in the other (x or Y) direction. The other edge of the plate must be simply supported by the corner of the V shape, and hence restrained at one point in the Z direction. If you want to make it complicated then have contact so that the edge of the plate simply supported by the V can slide.
