Firstly sorry for my poor english,I am working on FEA analysis of power steering system,My analysis consist of assembly of different components of steering system which includes casting materials (brittle materials) and machining parts (ductile material). when I complete my analysis, I need to compare FEA results with material strength.Now question is how to check results for brittle material and ductile material,means for both material should I consider von-misses stresses as failure criteria or Principal stresses for brittle material and von-misses stresses for brittle material in same complete assembly analysis case.
