I'v seen some parts with sketch dimensions that show even when the sketch is not open or selected. How is this accomplished?

In a part, right click on annotations in the feature tree. click show annotations. You may need to click on details as well to select which annotations you want to show. In an assy, it is the same, except you may need to select "use assy settings for all components".

Thank you both for the quick response.

I have a lot of sketches each with a lot of dimensions. Some are driven by a design table, most are formula driven, and a few are configuration specific that I don't want in the design table. I only want to show the third group of dimensions. Is there a way to only show certain dimensions, or is it an "all or none" type of thing?

I know as soon as I say this someone (CBL, Scott?) will contradict me but, I haven't been able to find and easy way to do what you're asking. There is a way, but it's very labor intensive, or at least as labor intensive as moving a mouse around can be.

After playing with it some more I figured out how to do what I want. After you "show feature dimensions" you can then hide the dimensions you don't want to see. Right-Click (RMB) the feature and select "Hide all dimensions", or RMB the dimension itself and select hide. Thank you both; you have been very helpful.
