How is magnetic charge (qm) calculated?

the term magnetic charge is used because of the mathematical analogy with calculating electrostatic fields.
it is equivalent to the divergence of the magnetization within the volume; at the surface you use greens theorem to show that the surface charge is equivalent to the dot product of the surface normal and the surface magnetization...
