I'm just curious how to do this before you begin your drawing.

Geno, you really need to start asking better questions, wording them better.

Are you asking about creating templates?

Are you asking about changing sheets size once in a drawing?

Something else?

Sorry about my wording. But yes, I'm asking about creating templates. I already know how to create ISO drafts, but I would like to create an ANSI draft template that includes the background. Can you switch your ISO draft into an ANSI draft or do you have to start from scratch.

Well, you could cut and paste it across but as the sheet sizes & size ratios are different it will only get you so far.

For real ANSI drafts I'd take a look at ASME Y14.1.

I'd be tempted to create a new template file since all the different sheet sizes etc actually add a lot to the draft file sizes.

Just make sure to create the formats for each sheet as background sheets in the new template file.

Depending how keen your are on actually complying to ASME stds then you might be able to cut and past your rev & title blocks and just modify the out line to fit the proportions.
