How do you know experimentally the usefull life of the shaft of the centrifugal pump subjected to fatigue?, does some test exist?

If it breaks....you need another. If you rebuild the pump and the bearings fit really loose, you need another. If the lip/oil seals leak, you need another.

Usually, if the pump has been in a severe service for a while without rebuilding, you are much better off getting a new shaft. When the impeller is removed in such a pump, the impeller threads are usually ruined (or at least bashed to some extent). Jack

shafts on centri. pumps usually lst for several years, if lubricated properly, did find wear problems with teflon mechanical seals.
