Hello Everyone,
I am try to understand How do the polish parameter(use Polish machine,Polish Jig,polish Pad) affect the optical connector's (SC,LC)geometry (Curve of Radius,Apex offset, fiber protrusion).
I have done some test and got some result, but do not sure they are right or not.

1.Hardness of Polish Pad:
high hardness will get large Curve of Radius ?
2.High polish pressure:
high pressure will get large fiber protrusion but poor(large) Apex offset?
3.Polish time :
Longer polish time will get large fiber protrusion and good(samll) Apex offset?
4.More new jig and new pad can get good(samll)Apex offset?
(I guess may be more older jig port will have micro shaking when polishing because of wear).

I used to fiber optic comm for a living, put me through school. I found that the best polishing came from using a glass plate with a good puck. Corning makes some good pucks that hold the connector square. I also used .5 to 1 micron paper for the final polish. But then again you can use unicams and avoid the polishing.
