SAE J30 for fuel hoses uses the terms "coupled" and "uncoupled." However, they are not defined and a search on the internet didn't turn up anything except quick-disconnect couplings. It must be obvious to everyone else, but could someone please explain?

The spec is 46 pages long.
Depends on what flavor of hose you want as to what type of material it is.
If you really want to know the material of your hose, ask your supplier.

I didn't have a problem with what the materials are, just the terms coupled and uncoupled. I don't know what they mean.
