Read and prepare before attending the training at Hobart.
Become familiar with D1.1, but don't try to memorize it. Learn how it is laid out and what information is presented in each of the 8 clauses.
Tab the major clauses and the beginning of the tables and figures for each clause.
Tab the Table of Contents and the Index. No need to tab the annexes or commentary because there are no questions taken from those areas. However, clause K is a glossary which might prove to be helpful on the examination, so a tab for the glossary is reasonable.
Since you have plenty of time, you can read each clause and develop a question with 4 or 5 answers for each clause. That will force you to read the clause and understand what the clause is addressing in order to write a good question.
As for the Certification Manual, it is a good book. It covers the basics and it has questions you can use to test yourself. Read each section and answer the questions once you have read the section. Do not look for the answers until you have done all the questions.
Time yourself while you do the quizzes. Allow 48 seconds per question. Use an answer sheet to get used to using one.
Good luck.
