History of Rebar Strength 1

Anybody have an idea of what strength rebar was (in Canada) for a 1960's building? I assume around 300MPa.

I don't know about Canada for certain, but here's a good paper (for the U.S., at least).

CAN/CSA-S6 is the Canadian Bridge code. Section 14 is the Evaluation part. For evaluation of historical bridges it gives you the material properties of reinforcement based on the construction date of the bridge. between 1956 and 1978 it gives a minimum value of 275 Mpa for Fy. (14.6.3.3)
I guess the same approach would work for buildings

In Canada in the 1960's, reinforcement with a yield point of 60 ksi and 75 ksi was available, but it was not standard practice to specify it. Most engineering firms in those days specified reinforcement with a yield of 40 ksi which would be about 275 MPa.
