HILTI Kwik bolt near a construction joint

I am putting a kwik bolt 3 near an old construction joint in 4000 p.s.i. concrete. Is there any documentation that provides guidance on the subject. It will not land on the old joint. The joint is tapered into a curve formed into the wall. I am putting an anchor about 2-3" away from the joint. The joint is about 1" wide and a curved v about 1" deep.

Anyone have documentation or experience on this issue or comments.

I guess you are taking about slab-on-grade. If I were you I will design the anchorage using base metal thickness minus 1'' (depth of CJ).

I would look into a chemical anchor rather than an expansion anchor here. You will probably just blow out the side with the expansion anchor.

We did some testing with this type situation a few years ago. It will behave very similar to a free edge. Use edge distance reductions and limits.

Agree with Mike and Matt. Go epoxy, use manufacturer's software or tables to apply all of the proper reductions. Be very careful near edges, this kills bolt capacity.
