I recently posted a question looking for elastic modulus of steel at 1000 deg C. While replys I recieved were accurate, the reason I need the data is not for beam deflection.

I am undertaking work on the shape/flatness of steel in the rolling process and wish to verify Shohet and Townsends model of profile change. To do this I will calculate the buckling stress limit based on section modulus and internal stress - that I will apply as the "load" that will cause the buckling. Since I know strain from the difference in incoming strip profile and the rolling gap, I need E to calculate stress. Therefore I need to know E at rolling temperature, nominally 950 to 1050 degrees C. I will assume creep will be minor due to interstand rolling times of less than one second.

Thanks jahm - just what I needed!
