High strength steel replacement for A105 and A516 Gr 70

Looking for a recommendation to replace A105 and A516 Gr 70 carbon steels with much higher strength ones, with good machinability, equivalent corrosion resistance and nickel plating suitability, for use in high pressure fluids for which A105 and 516 are typically used.

SA-299, SA-537, SA-533 Mn-Mo&Mn-Mo-Ni alloys, SA-656, etc. These are generally high Mn with additions of V, Ni, Mo, Si etc.
Do not treat them as you would SA-516 regarding welding. I've recently seen a number of heavy wall vessels require extensive repairs of cracks when treated like SA-516.
