high strength ball joint 1

I need to make a ball joint as small as possible, so I need to use a high strength steel. The ball has an integral threaded shaft. The max tensile load is 60% of the max compressive load. Temperature is <200F, >-100F. Life of part is short - few high loads.

I'm looking for suggestions for candidate high strength steels.
 
Assuming this is for an aerospace application, candidates would be the typical MIL-HDBK-5 (now DOT/FAA/AR-MMPDS-0whatever) alloys:

18 NI MARAGING STEELS (SAE AMS 6512 and 6514)
AF1410 (SAE AMS 6527)
AerMet 100 (SAE AMS 6532)
AerMet 310 (SAE AMS 6478)
Custom 450® PH stainless steel (SAE AMS 5763 or AMS 5773)
Custom 455® PH stainless steel (SAE AMS 5617)
Custom 465® PH stainless steel (SAE AMS 5936)

Lower cost options would be 4340, 4335 + V, 300M, 35NCD16

Further refinement obviously depends on the details like service environment, desired manufacturing process, production quantities, etc.
