High Pump Nozzle Loads & Use Of Stiffness Coeff. on CNode's On Anchors

I am currently running a model at quite low temps (45'C), but still high nozzle loads are experienced due to the short lines (obviously not a lot of flexibility in the system with lines between tanks and pumps).

It has been mentioned that there are some flange/gasket distortion that takes place and thus if a stiffness coeff. is used on the anchor it will definitely improve loads/moments.

My question thus, what kind of stiffness coeff. can one use for typical 1.5mm thick PTFE non-metal flat gaskets? And can one make use of CNodes on all rigids where the gaskets will be situated in order to give more flexibility to the system.

Any comments welcome!

I have not heard something like this until now.

The best solution would be to model in the Tank flexibility. Just select NOZZLE in your input and enter the tank parameters.

Introducing nozzle flexibility or inputting flexible anchor at the nozzle will reduce nozzle loads.
However if your nozzle loads are still high then you might need to modify the pipe routing to give addititional flexibility to the system and also look at your pipe support positioning and selection (type of supports used). Another option is to install expansion joint at the nozzle if your system run at low pressure.

Good luck and have fun modelling
