I'm looking for closure types that do not use o-ring seals. Specifically quick-opening Graylok, LTS style, etc. I can't use blind flanges, GD style, Tube turn style. Modco closures are limited to "lower pressures".

Vessel will be 30" dia, and designed for 3000 psig (2500 ANSI). We have built numerous vessels for this client, and all have used TubeTurns, GD, or BF closures, but the client is trying to get away from o-ring seals.

Any recommendations or similar experiences?

Have you considered these?

Can't say that I've seen one in real life but I know several exchangers at various refineries have been installed or are being built with this type of closure for high pressure applications.

Ever thought about just making it a welded joint if leaks are a worry ? A welded joint costs more money to open and close, but if it is not a frequent event ....
Cheers

The vessel will be opened on the order of once a week. It is a injection water filter, so easy access is a must. I'm leaning towards recommending a GD closure and moving on, but as always it's best to try to honor client requests first!

LTS is the premier manufacturer of high pressure closures, espsically in the larger sizes. Generally they aren't too interested in closures below an ANSI 1500 class. They have made a name for themselves in the hp markets, especially in replacing failed closures from the likes of Grayloc, Reflange, etc. They won't be the cheapest, but technically their designs are a cut above the rest. Just ask BP or Exxon Mobil, to name a few!
