A fellow in Colombia is asking me about the class of pipe they may use for Rice Dryers. Those units operate as heat exchangers for an air flow. Pipe must resist 1400C ( 2552 F)with not deformation, Diam. 8" wall 2mm. Also good heat transfer and excelent corrosion resistant for rice husk and hot gases.

Does it exist?

I will appreciatte any comment.

Thanks in advance.

Your are in the range of "unobtanium". The temperature and size of the pipe are outside the normal limits of pipe and tubes.

Please check the temperature requirements. Pleas give a little more details.

The upper limit of the very best of high temperature alloys is around 2300°F with very severe limits on size and use. If you can get the temperature to 2000°F you will stand a better chance to find a material, though not in the size you are requesting.

Sounds like a job for ceramics, not metals!

check the materials that are used for radiant tubes in heat treating furnaces. The dimensions and temperature ranges are closer to what you are looking for.

Also graphite can be a good option. It has good HT coefficient, dimensionally stable at temperatrues upto 2400F and good compressive strength.

Are you certain that the metal itself reaches 1400C? If that is the case you are without possible materials. That sounds like very high temperatures for rice processing.
