Hi, Can anyone direct me to a manufacturer of a magnet controller for an electromagnetic chuck in a surface grinder? The magnet is rated for 225Vdc and 10 amps. I would like to be able to adjust magnetism from an analog output of a PLC. I will also need to be aable to demag. with the same controller.
Thanks,

Controller For Magnetic Chuck

well this can be easy does your plc have the ability to vary is voltages or just pos and neg? if it is you can use it to vary the voltage to increase or decrease the input voltage to the chuck. there are systems out there to do that all they need is an input. Now demag tho that can be tricky you normally need to reverse the voltage and hold for an equal amount of time to demag.

Or you could place the parts into a another bin with another mag along the bottom and time how long they sit to demag them. Or buy a demag coil and try that.

Hope it helps tho there are many other ways in sure others here know.
