Hello,

I have been searching for a subroutine which would help in utilizing the field output variable quantity calculated by ABAQUS/Explicit, surface heat flux (HFL), of one surface elements to be specified as the input for another surface elements.

There are two circular workpieces which have translation/rotation and are placed one above other. At the interface, I'm using tangential friction behavior only. I have utilized gap thermal conductance at the interface but it causing the element distortion issues. Therefore, I am trying to find a way to specify the flux output (HFL) from top workpiece surface to the bottom workpiece surface.

Can anyone give some guidance or an answer regarding whether we can use the outputs calculated by ABAQUS as input from one element to another?

Thanks in advance.
