We are looking to replace some old cast pieces in one of our heat treat ovens. I haven't been able to locate the original specs on the part. We ran an Arcmet and Xmet analysis on the material to narrow down the material type. However, I haven't been able to cross-reference it with anything listed in the UNS book. Any ideas?

That looks to be white cast iron. UNS F4500x ASTM A532.
Good luck, these are a bear to work with.
Check the hardness and do a micro.
These are usually used as cast or case and stress relieved.
Pangborn makes shot blast equipment so these must be wear plates of some sort.

P.E. Metallurgy, consulting work welcomed

Thanks for the help. The chemistry matches up with ASTM A532 IIB. I never thought to look in the cast iron section of the UNS book for whatever reason.

Pangborn produces in 15Cr-3Mo grade wear parts. I used to make these for after markets.
